HISTORY
The Church of Pentecost Canada is registered federal religious
non-profit organization carrying the gospel to all parts of the world and in
Canada in particular. The Church of Pentecost Canada is a branch of The Church
of Pentecost International, which has its general headquarters in Accra, Ghana,
West Africa and traces its origin to 1937 when the English missionary Rev. James
McKeown began his ministry in the then Gold Coast (now Ghana).
Presently, the Church of Pentecost International is active in
80 countries in Africa, North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East with
over 80,000 Assemblies (Local Churches) worldwide. The driving force behind the
church's growth is the Lordship of Jesus Christ as the Head and the enabling
power of the Holy Spirit.
The Church of Pentecost, Canada started in 1990 at Toronto,
Ontario, and has since then expanded to other provinces. Besides the PIWC and
the Mckeown Worship Centre in North York, the Church has branches in Hamilton,
London, Scarborough, Mississauga, Oakville and Ottawa (in Ontario Province),
Vancouver (British Columbia province), Calgary and Edmonton (Alberta province),
and Winnipeg (Manitoba province).
The Pentecost International Worship Center (formerly the
English Church) has been established since 1995 through a powerful visitation of
the Lord. Past District Pastors have included Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Owusu, Rev.
Daniel Nii Lomotey Engmann, Rev. James Mckeown Quainoo, Rev. Amoh Nyanteh, and
Rev. Christian Popo-Ola. Our current District Pastor (Overseer) is
Rev. Richard Adjei.
