About Us
Who We Are
The Youth Ministry of The Church of Pentecost Canada is designed to teach young people to live for Jesus Christ in this end time. Camps, Conferences, Drama, Bible research, discussions, quizzes, trips, and other activities are organized to sustain their interest in the Church and to develop them to become the future of God's church. Also, the Ministry trains members to evangelize to their peers who are without Christ. The Youth Ministry is for young people aged 13 to 27 years. We have divided ourselves into two classes: the Teenagers (ranging from 13-17 years) and PENTECOST STUDENTS AND ASSOCIATES or PENSA (18 years and beyond). We have 600 youth members spread across the Church's branches in Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Hamilton, Scarborough, Peel (Mississauga/Brampton), London, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, and Vancouver. Our MissionThe mission of the Youth Ministry is to harness the budding potentials of the youth into the church's overall tasks of evangelism and to help prepare them to play responsible roles in the church and the nation at large. Our aims and objectives are as follows:
Our ActivitiesOur meetings are held on weekends and its frequency depends on which assembly a person belongs to. At our meetings, we teach Bible doctrine, tenets of the Church, and issues relating to how the youth could live godly lives in this ungodly world. We also teach them how to lead opening prayers, worship, and everything they need to know in order to mature in the faith and in the church. In addition to our weekly meetings, we hold retreats, seminars, prayer meetings, and teachings during the spring and summer holidays to keep the youth in good spiritual shape. At such retreats, we invite guest speakers to give in-depth teachings to the youth and answer any questions they may have on given topics.
We also hold Conferences, Camp Meetings and Conventions to deepen member's spiritual growth. Since 1998, we have held camps in Cayuga (Hamilton), Montreal, Walkerton, Haliburton, Perth, Ancaster, and Abbotsford (British Columbia). In 2007, we attended the first ever North American PENSA Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. We also organize activities that help the youth succeed academically. We hold educational seminars and career fairs during which we invite professionals to mentor the youth on what kind of careers they could choose. We also teach life skills.
We put our to knowledge of Scripture to work by volunteering in the community, mentoring others, developing talents, and embarking on evangelism related activities. Further, we balance our need for spiritual, academic, and socially growth with recreation and fun. Our picnics, excursions games, and other recreational activities are not to be missed. We participated in previous Billy Graham, John Hagee, and Benny Hinn crusades, as well as Missionfest programs across the country. We have also visited Pratt & Whitney, an aircraft manufacturing company and such amusement parks as Niagara Falls, Marineland, Ontario Place, Cincinnati, and Canada's Wonderland among others. In North York, we have a boys soccer team as well as basketball teams which participate in tournaments and games with other basketball teams.
