YOUTH ATTEND INTERNATIONAL PENSA CONFERENCE IN CINCINNATI, USAPENTECOST STUDENTS AND ASSOCIATES (PENSA) is a newly inaugurated campus based ministry. Membership comprises of post-secondary school STUDENTS and ASSOCIATES (graduates or professionals who serve as mentors for the students). The first International PENSA Conference held in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, from July 5-8, 2007 was very edifying. Over 800 young adults from within the USA, Canada, Europe, and Ghana, were present. Guests included Pastor E. K. Acquah (Youth Director from Ghana), Pastor Franklin Hushie (PENSA Coordinator, Accra), Pastor Andy Donkor (USA National Youth Leader), and Elder Dr. Timothy Koomson (Deputy National Youth Leader in Charge of PENSA, USA). Apostle Albert Amoah (National Head, USA) and some pastors in USA were present to provide their support. The 94-member Canadian delegation was led by Pastor and Mrs.James Mckeown Quainoo (National Youth Patron), Elder Richard Adjei (NationalYouth Leader), Deaconess Grace Jackson (National Youth Secretary), and Elder Joseph Djarnie (National PENSA Coordinator). The theme for the Conference was WALK BEFORE ME AND BE BLAMELESS (Gen. 17:1). The various speakers elaborated on the fact that God commands all believers to walk before Him and be blameless and that leading a blameless life brings the favor, presence, and blessings of God in one's life ( 2 Peter 3:13; 1 Thess. 5:21; Exodus 33:9,12,17,19; Psalm 89:17). Praise and worship were dynamic, and there were powerful prayer sessions filled with God's presence. There were also seminars on marriage, singleness, financial planning, mentoring, college life, and spiritual leadership. Overall the Conference was an eye-opening experience for the Canadian delegates as they saw a lot of young adults serving God with full zeal. In the year that the Youth Ministry in Canada is trying to rejuvenate their pentecostal strength, we pray that the encounter with the LORD at the PENSA Conference will be transmitted to the youth adults in Canada so that they would rise up and play more active and zealous roles in the Youth Ministry and church in general. |
