Pastor Joseph Acheampong was born in Offinso in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. He became a member of the Church of Pentecost in 1992 in the Darkuman District, Greater Accra Region of Ghana.

He was appointed Local Witness Leader in 1995, District Witness Secretary (Bubiashie District) in 1996, and as Assistant District Witness Leader (Toronto District) in 1999. He was ordained as Deacon in 1997, Elder in 2003, Probationary Overseer in 2007, Overseer in 2009 and into full Pastorate in 2011. 

He has also served as Deputy National Youth Leader, COP Canada, (1999-2001), District Financial Secretary, PIWC North York (1999-2004), Chairman of District Finance Board PIWC, North York (2004-2007), member of the National Witness Executive (2007-2009), Area Secretary of COP Western Canada from 2012 to 2016,  a  member of Western Canada Area Executive Board (2010 to 2018), a current member of the Scarborough Area Executives(2019 to date) and is currently  the Scarborough Area Secretary (2020 to date ). He has been stationed as District Pastor in Edmonton first for COP Edmonton since December 2007 until October 2012 when he was given charge over the then newly merged Calgary-Edmonton District  which was later  split in 2014 around which time he was transferred to COP Vancouver.He was then transferred  to the then Southwestern Ontario(SWO) District as District Pastor which has now been split led into the COP Canada  London  and Windsor Districts.Further to the above, he is the National Children’s Ministry Leader (2017-to date) and a member of the National Finance Board as Pastors representative (2019-to date).

Prior to his call into full-time Ministry, he worked with the sales department of a Toronto-based Company, Heavy Duty Parts.  He has a diplomat with Alliance Francaise and is currently pursuing a degree program with Above and Beyond Christian Counseling Academy.

He is married to Mrs. Ama Sekyere  Acheampong, a Registered Nurse from Humber College and University of New Brunswick with a Masters Degree in Leadership  from Trinity University of Vancouver . They are blessed with four children-two girls and two boys. They are Ann-Joelle Acheampong(18), Clinton Kwaku Opoku Acheampong (15), James Mckeown Nana Yaw Dwumoh Acheampong (13) and Sarah Ewuradwoa Tabuah Acheampong (11).

He is married to Mrs. Ama Sekyere Acheampong, a Registered Nurse (from Humber College and University of New Brunswick) and they are blessed with four children-two girls and two boys.
